Abstract:

Objective   To explore the treatment method of inverted papilloma of the maxillary sinus. Methods   29 cases were treated by an inferiornasal concha flipping pathway from January 2006 to June 2011. All the cases were in stage Ⅲ according to the Clinical grading standard of Krouse. 4 cases originated in the maxillary sinus, the other 25 cases invaded in the maxillary sinus. All the patients were performed the operations by the inferior nasal concha flipping approach. Results   Followed up in 12 to 36 months, only 3 cases recurred. Among these recurrence cases, 2 were extensive lesion for all the sinuses and 1 originated in the frontal sinus. Conclusion   Inferior nasal concha flipping is helpful in reducing trauma and providing an expansive field of view and is an effective method of treatment of inverted papilloma of the maxillary sinus.
