Abstract:

Objective   To explore the effects of psychological intervention on botulinum toxin injections for Belepharospasm and Hemifacial spasm. Methods   Fifty-six patients with Belepharospasm and Hemifacial spasm who accepted botulinum toxin injection were randomly divided into experimental group(n=30) and control group(n=26). Conventional care was given to the two groups. In addition, the experimental group accepted psychological intervention. Self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) were used to evaluate the treatment efficacy. We contrasted the improvement of sleep quality and the grade point variation of SDS and SAS between the two groups. Results   The sleep quality in the experimental group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.01). The scores of SDS and SAS in the two groups were better after treatment than before treatment, and the difference was more obvious in the experimental group. Conclusion   There is a significant clinical effect of psychological intervention for Belepharospasm and Hemifacial spasm.
