Obstructive sleep apnea and cancer: a review.

Abstract: Several studies have recently demonstrated that patients with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)have a high prevalence of cancer and cancer-related mortality. A large number of animal experiments and clinical studies have further confirmed that OSA can be involved in tumorigenesis and progression. The mechanism may involve oxidative stress, systemic inflammation, sympathetic outflow, immune dysfunction, exosomes, hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF), and so on.
