Abstract: [ABSTRACT]Objective: To investigate the role of modified endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. Methods: A bone pore and a large membrane flap of dacryocyst were made under endoscope, and the membrane flaps of dacryocyst and nasal cavity were sewed up and fixed to the deep surface of the inner canthus by selfmade needle in 42 patients (56 eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis. Results: Followed up from 3 to 21 months, 51 eyes were cured, 4 released, 1 ineffective. The cure rate was 91.1%, and the total response rate was 98.2%. Conclusion: Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy has salutary effect for avoiding longterm anastomotic aresia.
