Abstract: To improve the method of dissection in tonsillectomy. Methods: Under general anesthesia, the mouth prop was put in, and the electrotome was used to remove the tonsil. The amout of bleeding, pains and the growth of tonica albuginea were observed. Results: The amount of bleeding was lower than 20 ml. The palatal arch and the uvula were swelled little. Pseudomembrane sprouted 12 to 18 hours later. Conclusions: Tonsillectomy with electrotome is worth using with advantages of few bleeding and short operation.
