Abstract: Objective To analyze the characteristics of polysomnography and treatment in senile patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome. Method 32-guide polysomnography was performed on 87 senile patients and 296 middle-juvenile patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome, and the results were analyzed by Polysmith. Also the 87 senile patients were treated with continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP)and an oral appliance (OA). Results The AHI was (25.97±18.23)/h in the senile patients and (46.43±27.26)/h in the middle-juvenile patients. The mean value of the NREM stage between the two groups was similar. The REM of the senile patients was higher than that of the middle-juvenile patients[(13.08±7.37)% vs (9.78±7.23)% ]. Conclusion Senile patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome should first select non-invasive treatment.
