Abstract: Objective    To evaluate the quality of life in patients under care of sublingual immunotherapy. Methods    Quality of life in 49 patients who were sensitized to house dust mites and treated with Dermatophagoides farinae drops in a duration of 1.5 to 2 years with complete clinical data was retrospectively analyzed. Mini rhinoconjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(MiniRQLQ) and the total medication score(TMS)were evaluated before and half a year, 1 year and 1.5-2 years after SLIT treatment. Results    After SLIT treatment of 1 year, the scores of domains of activity limitations and other symptoms were lower than before(Z=-3.595,-5.949, P<0.05). The other domains and the total scores significantly decreased after SLIT treatment of half a year(Z=-3.854,-4.732,-2.903,-4.149, P<0.05). As time went on, the scores of MiniRQLQ dropped further. Conclusion    The nasal symptoms (sneezing, stuffy blocked nose and runny nose ) and the practical problems(need to rub nose/eyes, need to blow nose repeatedly ) were significantly affected. SLIT can improve the QOL of patients with allergic rhinitis.
