Abstract:

Objective   To investigate the clinical characteristics and treatment measures of Behcet’s disease. Methods   We retrospectively studied clinical data of 11 patients (22 eyes) with Behcet’s disease. Five patients were treated with glucocorticoids, and six patients were treated with glucocorticoid and immunosuppressants. Results   Visual acuity decreased in 8 eyes and unchanged in 2 eyes in glucocorticoid therapy group. Visual acuity decreased in 2 eyes, unchanged in 6 eyes, and improved by 1 line in 3 eyes and by 2 lines in 1 eye in combination therapy group. Conclusion   Uveitis in Behcet’s disease is a severe blind disease. The combination therapy of early, sufficient and systemic application of glucocorticoid and immunosuppressants might avoid serious consequences.
