Abstract: To analyze the causes of misdiagnosis of tracheal foreign bodies in children. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed to two cases of unusual tracheal foreign bodies in children. Results: One patient who had no history of definite foreign body was confirmed that the main trachea was blocked by nasal purulent crust, and another highly suspected child with unquestionable tracheal foreign body was diagnosed as organophosphate poisoning. Conclusion: To avoid misdiagnosis of tracheal foreign body, clinicians should collect medical history carefully and pay more attention to the characteristic physical signs.

Key words: Nasal crust, Tracheal foreign body, Organophosphate poisoning
