Triamcinolone acetonide combined with micro-pulse diode laser in treatment of diabetic macular edema

Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To explore the therapeutic effect and security of triamcinolone acetonide combined with micro-pulse diode laser for diabetic macular edema.〖WTHZ〗Methods〓〖WTBZ〗36 patients (40 eyes) with diabetic macular edema were treated with an intra-vitreous injection of 0.1mL(4?mg) triamcinolone acetonide after fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) by a micro-pulse diode laser. During 3 months follow-up,the visual acuity, intraocular pressure, inflammation in the anterior chamber, FFA and optical coherence tomography were determined. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗The visions of all the patients was improved in varying degrees, and it was improved from 0.1 to 0.5 in one patient suffering from the disease for 3 years. High intraoular pressure occurred in 3 patients and was controlled by eye-drops in 2 patients and by additional oral medicine in 1. Pseudo-ophthalmia happened in 1 patient. Macular edema was relieved in all patients. 〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Triamcinolone acetonide combined with micro-pulse diode laser is effective and safe for diabetic macular edema.
