Clinical observation on suspensory intraocular lens implantation in the ciliary groove after ocular trauma

Abstract:

To evaluate the effect of suspensory intraocular lens implantation in the ciliary groove after ocular trauma. MethodsThe clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in 19 eyes of 19 patients treated with suspensory intraocular lens implantation in the ciliary groove. ResultsDuring a followup of 6 to 25 months, postoperative correct visual acuity of 0.3 to 0.5 was achieved in 4 eyes (21.1%), 0.6 to 0.7 in 5 eyes (26.3%), and 0.8 to 1.0 in 9 eyes (52.6%) without severe complications. ConclusionSuspensory intraocular lens implantation in the ciliary groove is an effective and safe surgery for the aphakic eye after ocular trauma.
