Abstract: To investigate the diagnosis and treatment in granular myringitis with otomycosis. MethodsFortythree ears of granular myringitis with otomycosis were detected and treated by otoendoscopy between May 2004 and February 2008. Scoraping, clippering and chemical cauterization were performed on the basis of clinical features. Simultaneously pevisone was sprayed over the external canal. ResultsThe cure rate was 95.3%(41/43) in granular myringitis and 90.7% (39/43)in otomycosis, and the recurrence rate was 4.7%(2/43) and 9.3%(4/43) with a followup of more than 6 months. Conclusion Otoendoscopy can elevate the accuracy of diagnosis for granular myringitis with otomycosis, and it in combination with a topical antifungal agent containing glucocorticods can give a satisfactory curative effect.
