Nd:YAG laser in combination with annular silicone intubation
in treatment of lacrimal passage obstruction

Abstract: To evaluate the clinical effect of Nd:YAG laser in combination with an annular silicone intubation for obstruction of the lacrimal passage. Methods90 patients (94 eyes) were treated. The silicone tube was kept in place for 36 months. After surgeries, recovery of lacrimal passage function was followed up for a mean of 6 months. ResultsThe lacrimal passage of 84 eyes was cured (89.36%) and of 8 eyes turned better (8.51%). The effective rate was 97.87%. ConclusionNd:YAG laser in combination with an annular silicone tube is useful in treatment of obstruction of the lacrimal passage.
