Abstract:

Objective    To investigate the effects of FK506 to antagonize ototoxicity of Gentamycin. Methods   The gentamycin group and the groups of gentamycin plus different doses of FK506 (1mg, 2mg) were set up.  Then, the auditory brainstem response (ABR)  threshold was measured to explore the changes in hearing function. Cochlear preparations were stained with SDH to observe morphological changes. Results    Auditory data and morphological changes demonstrated significant differences between the gentamycin group and the groups of FK506 (P<0.05). FK506 could reduce the damages of gentamycin in the cochlea. Conclusion    Based on the experiment, FK506 can relieve the ototoxicity induced by gentamycin.

Key words: Ototoxity; FK506; Gentamycin
