Abstract:

Objective    To discuss the role of atopic factors of children on the development process from simple allergic rhinitis to bronchial asthma combined allergic rhinitis. Methods     One hundred and ten children with allergy rhinitis and combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome (CARAS) were enrolled in this study.  The atopic factors for statistics, including personal and family allergen history and allergic dermatitis history were analyzed. Results    Among the 110 cases of AR surveyed, 26 cases were diagnosed as CARAS. There were significant differences in the influence of personal and family allergen history and allergic dermatitis history in the CARAS and simple allergic rhinitis groups. Conclusion    Atopic  status of children is a risk factor of the development of allergic  rhinitis  towards CARAS. The more positive number of allergic dermatitis history and personal and family allergen history, the more chance of development of allergic rhinitis towards CARAS.
