Abstract:

Objective   To observe the clinical effect and safety of gahnciclovir combined with compound betamethason in the treatment of herpes zoster oticus and Ramsy-Hunt syndrome. Methods   35 patients with herpes zoster oticus were divided into 2 groups randomly, in which group 1 was treated with intravenously guttae of ganciclovir, oral vitamin B1, injection of mecobalamine and external use of acyclovir, while the group 2 was treated with extra injection of  another 1ml compound betamethason. Results   The therapeutic efficacy of group 2 was better than group 1, without any significant difference in the adverse reactions between the two groups.  Conclusion   Ganciclovir combined with compound betamethason is an effective and safe therapy for herpes zoster oticus.
