Abstract:

Objective       To investigate the efficacy of local lavage with compound betamethasone injection to treat auricle pseudocyst. Method      In 38 cases of auricle pseudocyst,  20 cases were locally injected and rinsed with compound betamethasone after the cyst fluid was drained, while the other 18 cases were administered with dexamethasone. The clinical outcomes of these two methods were compared. Result     Patients treated with compound betamethasone were all better than those treated with dexamethasone in recovery time, injection times and sequela, with the cure rate at 100.0%(20/20), which was higher than the other groups(83.3%，15/18). However,  the difference was not significant (χ2=1.6899, P>0.05). Conclusion      Local lavage with compound betamethasone is simple and effective in treating auricle pseudocyst.
