Abstract:

Objective   To investigate the diagnostic value of E-bronchoscopy in pediatric tracheobronchial foreign bodies(TBFB). Methods   Records of 99 children who underwent rigid bronchoscopy were reviewed. Results    of chest auscultation, fluoroscopy and E-bronchoscopy were compared with clinical outcome. ResultsComplete removal of TBFB succeeded in 98 patients. The foreign body was coughed out after E-bronchoscopy in 1 patient. The positive rates of history, chest auscultation, fluoroscopy and Ebronchoscopy were 90.91%, 95.96%, 84.84%, 100.00%, respectively. Conclusion   E-bronchoscopy is an accurate and safe method, which could be an ideal procedure for pediatric TBFB.
