Abstract: Objective    To explore the clinical characteristics, summary diagnosis and treatment of endogenous bronchial foreign body by rigid bronchoscopy and some cautions in operation. Method    30 cases of endogenous bronchial foreign body treated by rigid bronchoscopy were retrospectively analyzed. Results    All the bronchial foreign bodies, including 25 cases of sputum, 4 cases of granulation and 1 case of pseudomembranous were successfully removed by rigid bronchoscopy. 29 cases were discharged and 1 case suggesting tuberculosis infection by post-operative examination was transfered to the tuberculosis hospital later. Conclusion    Rigid bronchoscopy is effective for diagnosis and treatment of endogenous tracheo-bronchial foreign body, but the operation must be performed gently, carefully and precisely. Observation of the general condition of patients is the key to reduce complications.
