Abstract: Objective To reduce the post-operative blocking of filtration canal in trabeculectomy with scleral reflexed trabecular tissue padding into the operation. Methods 36 patients with glaucoma (36 eyes) were enrolled in this study. The modification of the procedure of routine trabeculectomy was that one end of the layer sclera tissue including part of trabecular meshwork want cut. Instead, the free end of the strip of deep sclera tissue was vertically rotated and sutured on the deep layer of the scleral bed posterior to it. The projection of the strip was utilized to prevent post-operative blocking of filtration canal. Results The post-operative intraocular pressure was below 21 mmHg in 33 eyes of 33 cases, the average as (15.86±3.01)mmHg, significantly lower than the average level before operation (29.62±5.49)mmHg(t=7.398, P<0.001). The success rate of operation was 94.45%. Conclusion Trabeculectomy with scleral reflexed trabecular tissue padding into the operation can effectively control the intraocular pressure and reduce the filtering bleb scar obstruction.
