Advances in study of traditional Chinese medicine on age-related macular degeneration

Abstract:

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is main irreversible blindness of eye disease to the aged. In recent years, wet AMD drug treatments have made a certain progress, but many problems still need to be studied more deeply, and dry AMD is lack of effective treatments. Quite a few researches of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preventing and treating AMD have been reported, and display certain advantages. In this article, new progresses about the prevention and treatment of TCM in AMD are summarized.
