Abstract:

Objective      To observe the safety and efficacy of riboflavin/UVA-induced corneal crosslinking in the treatment of fungal corneal ulceration. Methods      21 fungal ulceration patients underwent corneal crosslinking, followed by local anti-fungus medication. Slit-lamp and OCT were used to observe the healing process and the inflammation signal. Results       The ulceration disappeared and inflammation signal decreased in all the patients after crosslinking treatment. Among them, 5 recovered within 1 week, 11 recovered within 2 weeks, 4 healed within 1 month and one case was noneffective. No corneal crosslinking-related complication was observed. Conclusion       Corneal crosslinking combined with local anti-fungus medication can effectively treat fungal corneal ulceration.
