Study on the clinical observation of Tuina in the treatment of infantile hypertrophy based on apnea hypopnea index

Abstract: Objective This study aimed to investigate the clinical effect of Tuina in the treatment of pediatric adenoid hypertrophy by observing the change in hypoventilation index in children with adenoid hypertrophy before and after treatment. Methods Sixty children with adenoid hypertrophy were randomly included in the treatment and control groups and were treated with Tuina therapy and mometasonefuronate nasal spray(Nasonex), respectively. The changes in the hypoventilation indices in children before and after treatment with Tuina or drug therapy were compared. Results There was a significant difference in hypoventilation indices in intra-group comparisons(P<0.001 for the Tuina group and P<0.001 for the drug group)and in the inter-group comparisons(P<0.001). Conclusion The hypoventilation index of children with adenoid hypertrophy improved significantly after Tuina therapy. Tuina can improve Tuina improves the ventilation of the Eustachian tube in children with adenoid hypertrophy more effectively than drug treatment.
