Endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy on  complicated chronic dacryocystitis

Abstract:

Objective    To discuss the clinical effect of endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy on complicated chronic dacryocystitis. Methods    12 cases(14 eyes) underwent this operation by local hormones and irrigation of the lacrimal passage. Results    During post-operative follow-up from 6 months to 3 years, 11 eyes were cured,1 eye was improved and 2 eyes were not cured. The curative rate was 78.6%, the improvement rate was 7.1%, and the total effective rate was 85.7%.  No serious complications occurred. Conclusion    Compared to the traditional method, this method has advantages of better operative view，less damage，better effect and quicker recovery.
