Comparison of three methods in the treatment of ear lobe keloid

Abstract:

Objective       To find a safe, effective,and convenient method to treat ear lobe keloid by comparing the efficacy of three  different methods. Methods     Forty-five patients(84 sides) were retrospectively studied. Cases were divided into three groups according to the methods applied, including group A for surgical excision and triamcinolone injection, group B for surgical excision and Imiquimod, and group C for surgical excision(triamcinolone injected in the operation) and Imiquimod. Results       There was no significant difference between group B and group C, however, the efficacy of these two methods were better than group A. Conclusions       Surgical excision with triamcinolone injected in the operation and Imiquimod is reliable and simple, and  is easy for the patients to accept.
