Abstract:

Objective To explore the pathogenesis, pathology, clinical manifestation and diagnosis of primary small-vessel vasculitis. Methods We analysed the clinical data of 2 cases with otological symptoms as the first complain and reviewed the literatures of primary smallvessel vasculitis. Results 2 primary small-vessel vasculitis cases presented different manifestations. They were diagnosed by diverse methods and cured with satisfactory outcome. Conclusion They clinical manifestations of primary smallvessel vasculitis are complicated and diverse. It’s easy to be misdiagnosed, especially when the knowledge on otological symptoms caused by vasculitis was poorly understood. The primary symptoms may consist of earache, ear fullness, otorrhea and hearing loss. Early diagnosis and treatment are vital to improve prognosis. Comprehensive analysis is helpful to prevent misdiagnosis of this disease.
