Abstract: Objective To explore the surgical methods for complicated congenital preauricular fistula, so as to provide references for clinical treatment. Methods The clinical data of 71(80 ears)patients with complicated congenital preauricular fistula who were hospitalized in our hospital from May 2011 to May 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Results All patients received surgery by secreting the whole tissue 1 week after the affected ear infection was controlled. The patients were postoperatively followed up for 3 monts-5 years, and 78 ears(97.5%)showed no recurrence, while only 2 ears(2.5%)recurred postoperatively and were cured by secondary surgery. Another 1 ear(1.25%)had incision suture infection on d4 after operation, which was cured after wound dressing change and anti-infection treatment. Conclusion Selection of proper surgical time, precise determination of surgical boundary and resection of the whole lesion tissues are beneficial to the radical resection of complicated congenital preauricular fistula and the reduction of recurrence rate.
