Abstract:

Objective    To study the pathogenesis of dysosphresia in patients with chronic sinusitis, and to discuss expressions and significance of IGF-1R and Ki-67 in olfactory mucosa. Methods     There were 32 cases of chronic sinusitis in the experimental group, and 11 cases in the control group. IGF-1R and Ki-67 expressions were determined by immunohistochemistry.Tissue sections were observed under an optical microscope. Results      Expressions of IGF-1R and Ki-67  in the olfactory epithelium of 32 patients suffering from the dysosmia were lighter than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion     IGF-1R promoting regeneration in the olfactory epithelium was notably decreased in the ofactory epithelium of chronic sinusitis patient and may lead to ofactory dysfunction.

Key words: Insulin-like growth factor 1 R; Ki-67; Sinusitis; Olfactory epithelium;  Dysosmia
