Diagnostic value of CT of origin of nasal inverted papilloma.

Abstract: Objective To explore the CT imaging features of the origin of nasal inverted papilloma. Methods All 47 cases of sinonasal inverted papilloma were confirmed by nasal endoscopic surgery and pathology. Their CT imaging data were collected and analyzed retrospectively.Bone changes of the tumor were observed and the relationship between the bone changes in CT images and the tumor origin were studied. Results Among 47 patients, 39 had imaging performance of bone density increase, including 37 of bone hyperplasia parts in accordance with the orgin of tumor and the consistency was 78.4%, suggesting that the orgin of the tumor could be speculated according to the bone hyperplasia parts. Conclusion Bone hyperplasia on CT imaging has a high consistency with the origin of nasal inverted papilloma,which helps to predict origin of tumor and to guide a reasonable scheme before surgery.
