Abstract: Objective To guide laryngeal cancer patients to rationally use antibiotics. Methods Bateria culturing was carried out in 69 isolates of laryngeal cancer following tracheotomy and the susceptibility to antibiotics was determined. Results There were much more Gram-negative bacteria than Gram-positive bacteria isolated from sputum cultures. Most of them were sensitive to Imipenem, Meropenem and Cefoperazone/sulbactam, while Staphylococcus aureus was only sensitive to Vancomycin. Conclusion Antibiotics should be reasonable used based on the drug sensitivity test. Also careful nursing following tracheotomy is important.

Key words: Laryngeal carcinoma, Tracheotomy, Pathogen, Drug sensitivity test
