Clinical observation on improved nasal endoscopic plasty of inferior turbinate

Abstract: Objective    To investigate the effectiveness and operation skills in improved plasty of the inferior turbinate. Methods    Totally 114 cases of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis were randomly grouped. The 57 cases of group A were treated by improved plasty of inferior turbinate, and the other 57 cases of group B were treated by submucous turbinate resection with a micro-suction cutter. Results    The post-operative nasal resistance value and VAS scores were significantly lower than the pre-operative ones(P<0.05); There was no statistical significance between the two groups in comparing pre-operative and post-operative 1 month nasal resistance value and VAS scores (P>0.05), but there was  after post-operative 1 year (P<0.05); There was no significant difference in recent and forward curative effect in group A(P>0.05), but there was in group B (P<0.05) . Conclusion    The improved plasty of inferior turbinate can result in better forward curative effect than the submucous turbinate resection with a micro-suction cutter, and it is ideal in improving chronic hypertrophic rhinitis.
