Cryotherapy in the treatment of Coats disease in 10 cases

Abstract: Objective To investigate and evaluate the clinical effects of cryotherapy in the treatment of Coats′ disease.Methods A total of 10 patients (11 eyes) with Coats′ disease grade 3 underwent cryotherapy. The visual acuity, retinal detachment and abnormal retinal vessels were determined. Results Fundus fluorescein angiography （FFA）showed that abnormal retinal blood vessels were destroyed and the retina re-attached in all eyes. Also the visual acuity was significantly improved. Conclusion Cryotherapy has a fairly good effect in the treatment of Coats disease.
