Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To explore the surgical effects of severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) induced by hypophyseoma with hypertrophic corpus linguae. 〖WTHZ〗Method〓〖WTBZ〗3 cases were treated with uvulopalatopharyngolasty (UPPP) in combination with partial radix linguae and corpus linguae median line resection via the extro-neck approach. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗2 cases were healed and 1 case suffered from infection in the neck inter-space which was healed after draining, dressing change and antibiotics administration on day 11. Followed up from six months to three years, 3 cases felt well, had no somnolence in daytime, and the somnus monitoring on the 6th and 12th showed that the response rate was 100%. 〖WTHZ〗Conclusions〓〖WTBZ〗Uvulopalatopharyngolasty (UPPP) in combination with radix linguae, corpus linguae and lingual bone operation via the extro-cervical approach is effective for solving obstructions in the palatopharygeum and glossopharyngeum planes for severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) induced by hypophyseoma with hypertrophic corpus linguae.
