Unilateral cleft lip cheiloplasty for nasal deformity

Abstract: To explore the effects of unilateral cleft lip (UCL) cheiloplasty on nasal deformity. MethodThe operative methods and post-operative conditions of 186 cases of unilateral cleft lip cheiloplasty in our hospital from 2002 to 2006 were retrospectively analyzed. ResultsAfter unilateral cleft lip cheiloplasty, 35 cases had nasal deformity, of them, 12 cases were repaired by the Millard method, 16 by the Tennison method and 7 by rotation advancement and the triangular flap method. ConclusionThe appropriate operative method can simultaneously repair both unilateral cleft lip and nasal deformity.
