Abstract:

Objective    To explore the dry eye condition after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). Methods    80 patients (160 eyes) who underwent bilateral LASIK for the correction of myopia were divided into routine valva group and thin valva group. Fluorescein stainings, tear breakup time(BUT) and Schirmer I test value were recorded 1 week, 1 month，3 months and 6 months after operation. Results    There were no obvious differences in fluorescein staining at different times between the two groups (P>0.05). There were statistical differences in BUT in the third month and in Schirmer I test in the first and third months (P<0.05). Conclusion    Dry eye syndrome is a common complication of corneal refractive surgery. The occurrence of dry eyes is related with the thickness of the corneal flap.
