Abstract: Objective    To explore the relationship between allergic rhinitis and the pathogenes of adenoid hypertrophy in children, and to explore the specific sublingual immunotherapy effect on both diseases. Methods    92 cases of allergic rhinitis with adenoid hypertrophy were involved in the study, which were divided into two groups accepting dermatophagoides farinae drops specific sublingual immunotherapy (the research group) or routine treatment of anti-allergic drug (the control group), respectively. After 3 and 6 months of treatment in the research group and 3  months in the control group, nasal allergies, sleep snoring and changes of adenoid were observed and applied to evaluate the treatment effect.  Results    1. After treatment, VAS scores of nasal allergies and sleep snoring in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, and sleep snoring VAS score of the control group was lower than that of the research group (P<0.05). 2. The adenoid A/N ratios of the two groups after treatment was lower than those before the treatment, and that of the control group was less than that of the research group (P<0.05). Conclusion    There is a close relationship between allergic rhinitis and adenoid hypertrophy in children. Specific sublingual immunotherapy could improve the nasal allergy symptoms, at the same time, sleep snoring improved as a result of reducing the adenoid volume, provides a new method for non-surgical treating allergic rhinitis with adenoid hypertrophy.
