Investigation of quality of life on chronic rhinosinusitis following medication.

Abstract: Objective To evaluate chronic rhino-sinusitis medication before treatment and quality of life(QOL)at different times after treatment and to investigate the drug therapy on QOL of patients. Methods Using sinusitis symptom visual analog scale(VAS)and sinusitis special scale-sinonasal outcome Test 20(SNOT-20), we collect 100 patients with chronic rhinitis-sinusitis as the experimental group receiving 12 weeks combination therapy drugs, once every four weeks, and another 100 healthy volunteers as the control group. Results By univariate analysis, the VAS score showed a significant difference(F=38.39, P<0.01)before and after treatment in the experimental group, and it showed a significant difference(t=7.93, P<0.01)between the 12-week after treatment group and the control group; After the drug treatment, VAS and CT score of 5 symptoms accounted decreases and each symptom rate also declined. By univariate analysis, the SNOT-20 score also showed a significant difference(F=27.93, P<0.01)before and after treatment in the experimental group, and it showed a significant difference(t=19.93, P<0.01)between the 12-week after treatment group and the control group;After the drug treatment, patents with each symptom accounted decrease and each symptom rate also declined. Conclusion Drug treatment can effectively improve the QOL chronic rhinitis sinusitis, whether needing long-term low-dose use remains further confirmation.
