Abstract:

To investigate expression levels of HLAA and B mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in patients with esophagus cancer of the neck and to explore their clinical significance. MethodsPeripheral blood mononuclear cells HLAA and B mRNA were determined by a realtime reverse quantitative PCR method in 62 patients with esophagus cancer of the neck and 32 healthy individuals. ResultsThe relative expression ratio of PBMC HLAA and B mRNA was 0.41±0.26 and 0.37±0.28 in the carcinoma group and 1.12±0.54 and 1.19±0.60 in the control group. Expression levels of HLAA and B mRNA on PBMCs in esophagus cancer of the neck were significantly lower than that in the controls. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that expression of HLAA,B was significantly associated with esophagus cancer of the neck(P=0.01). ConclusionHLAA and B mRNA play a critical role in the tumor immunity response. HLAA and B mRNA expression levels in PBMC are significantly reduced when tumors occur, so they may become available tumor markers.
