Abstract:

Objective    To discuss the influence of intact bone external auditory canal myringoplasty on the reconstruction of osseous external auditory canal and hearing, drying ear and some discomfort in the ear. Methods    72 cases of cholesteatoma tymapanitis from 2006 to 2010 were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group: the open type of radical mastoidectomy and modified radical mastoidectomy was employed in the control group and the intact bone external auditory canal myringoplasty was adopted in the observation group,in which pathological tissue was completely resected  but the osseous external auditory canal was kept or reconstructed. Result    Compared with traditional radical mastoidectomy and modified radical mastoidectomy, the intact bone external auditory canal myringoplasty had better and more distinct effect on improving hearing, drying ear and eliminating uncomfortable symptoms after operation. Conclusion     The operation of keeping or reconstructing the osseous external auditory canal has significant effect on improving hearing, drying ear as early as possible and eliminating uncomfortable symptoms.
