Current advances of improvement of hypoxia in tumor microenvironment

Abstract: Although the therapeutic strategy of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has been refineed and the life quality of patient has been improved, the overall fiveyear survival rate remains almost unchanged. Both resistance and recurrence are pending problems on therapy of HNSCC. Hypoxic microenvironment in tumor is closely related with the resistance and recurrence. On the other hand, if the effective approaches to improve the hypoxic microenvironment in tumor had been taken, the therapeutic effect would be increased in HNSCC.
