Hypertonic saline solution of Pulmicort respules in post-operative recurrence of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps after functional endoscopic sinus surgery

Abstract: Objective    To evaluate the clinical effect of the 3% of hypertonic saline solution of Pulmicort respules in treatment of post-operative recurrence of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps after functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) accompanied with allergic rhinitis. Methods    Nasal lavage of this drug was performed one time per day lasting 3 to 5 weeks. Results    Of the 30 cases in the treatment group, 20 cases were cured, 8 cases were improved and 2 cases were invalid. Of the 20 cases in the control group, 4 cases were cured, 8 cases were improved, and 8 cases were invalid. Conclusion    3% hypertonic saline solution of Pulmicort respules is safe and effective in treatment of post-operative recurrence of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps after FESS accompanied by allergic rhinitis.
