Abstract: To explore the reasons of failed endoscopic sinus surgery and to evaluate the time for reoperation. Method: Endoscopic sinus surgery was reperformed on 67 patients, and the reason of relapse was analyzed. Results: During a followup over 6 months, 52 cases were cured, 3 stopped operating as serious bleeding, and 12 relapsed 3 months after the surgery. Conclusion: The reason of recurrence is that pre and postoperative treatment is not normal, the anatomic structure of nasal cavity and parasinus is not entirely recovered, and the diseases and polyposis are not entirely excised. Reoperation should be performed at least six months after first operation.
