Abstract: To investigate the therapeutic effect of pharyngotympanic tube rinsing and administering under nasal endoscopy on chronic suppurative otitis media(simple type). Methods: Fiftyone cases of chronic suppurative otitis media(simple type) were randomly divided into studying and control groups. The studying group included 28 cases and was rinsed and administered by pharyngotympanic tube under nasal endoscopy, and this group was drained and drawn by external acoustic meatus as well. In contrast, 23 cases in control group were only routinely treated with antibiotics. They were followed up for a period of three months. Results: The dry ear rate and bacterial clearance rate of the studying group were higher than those of the controlling one(P＜0.05); the recurrence rate of the studying group was lower than that of the controlling one; their differences were significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion: It is simple and effective to treat chronic suppurative otitis media(simple type) by pharyngotympanic tube rinsing and administering under nasal endoscopy.
