Effect of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in diabetic patients with cataract

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical results of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in diabetics with cataract. Methods: A clinical comparative observation of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation was performed on 55 eyes of 50 diabetic patients and 55 of 50 with senile cataract. Postoperative complications and visual acuity were observed. Results: There were no obvious differences of complications and postoperative visual acuity between the two groups. Conclusion: Phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in diabetics whose blood sugar is well controlled is safe and effective.
