Robot-assisted transaxillary thyroid gland lobectomy: one case report

Abstract: Objective    To review the initial experience of transaxillay robot-assisted thyroid gland lobectomy. Method    On June 22nd 2014, one patient was performed robot-assisted thyroid gland lobectomy by a transaxillay approach using the da-Vinci surgical system in our department. Results    We successfully performed thyroid gland lobectomy. The pathologic report was nodular goiter. The operation time was 148 minutes. No postoperative complications occurred. Conclusion    Regarding our early experience, robot-assisted thyroid gland lobectomy is a safe, feasible and cosmetically good procedure.
