Abstract: To explore the advantage and disadvantage of microstryker instruments and semiconductor laser in partial turbinectomy. Methods: Fortyfive patients with chronic hypertrophy rhinitis were treated with microstryker instruments (group A), and 37 patients were with semiconductor laser(group B). Operation bleeding and time, shortterm and intermediate effect, postoperative scab and complication were analyzed. Result: Both the two groups had less hemorrhage and did not need nasal packing. The operative time and the scab were less in group A than in group B, and the short term effect in 2 weeks was better in group A than in group B (71.1% vs 18.9%), whereas the intermediate effective rate in group A was not better than that in group B (77.8% vs 94.6% , χ2=6.42, P<0.05). Conclusion: Both the two methods cause little operation bleeding and few postoperative complications, and group A has better shortterm effect, group B has better intermediate effect.
