Biological amniotic membrane and gelfoam in treatment of nasal adhesion

Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of endoscopic biological amniotic membrane and gelfoam for nasal adhesion. Methods In January 2010 to June 2013, 46 patients with nasal cavity adhesions were randomly divided into the treatment group (n=27)and the control group(n=19). The treatment group was treated by biological amniotic membrane+gelatin sponge, and the control group was treated with gelatin sponge alone. Results After follow-up of 2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months, the effective rate was 96.3% in the treatment group and 68.4% in the control group. Conclusion Application of biological amniotic membrane and gelatin sponge nasal adhesion under endoscopy is a convenient and effective method.
