Abstract: To compare the surgical effect of two kinds of neck dissection in the Chinese patients with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma in cN0 stage using the Meta analysis in order to provide some reference for cN0 patients. Methods: All randomized controlled researches from China about the surgical effect of the supraomohyoid neck dissection(SOND) and radical neck dissection(RND) were looked through. Odds ratio was calculated between the two groups. Results: Six researches was adopted among the 88 reports. The total number of sample was 1?065. The number of test group was 291, in which 97 were positive; of control group was 774, in which 236 were positive. OR was 0.87<0.05(SOND/RND) and 95%CI was (0.60, 1.26). There was no significantly statistical difference between the two groups. Conclusions: SOND and RND have similar effect in treatment of oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma cN0 therefore it is better to use SOND to improve the life quality of the patients.
