Treatment of maxillary sinus polyp and cyst by microwave under endoscopy

Abstract: To discuss a simple and convenient surgical method in use of microwave to treat the maxillary sinus polyp and cyst. Method： A total of 67 patients were treated with microwave coagulating through enlarged ostium guided by 30° or 70° endoscopy, and patients need ostium enlarged simultaneously were performed endoscopic middle meatal antrostomy by microwave. Result: The cure rate was 98.5％ after 6～12 months (average 9 months) followup. Conclusion: Maxillary sinus polyp and cyst might be cured by endoscope and microwave treatment.
