Thyroglossal duct carcinoma： one case report and a literature review

Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To investigate the diagnosis and treatment methods for thyroglossal duct carcinoma. 〖WTHZ〗Methods〓〖WTBZ〗The clinical data of 1 case of thyroglossal duct papillary carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed. Also, with a literature review, the genesis, diagnosis and therapy of thyroglossal duct carcinoma were analyzed. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗Most thyroglossal duct carcinoma were papillary and had multi-cystic structures or mural nodule or calcification on CT. Followed up for almost 1 year, no relapse occurred. 〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Thyroglossal duct carcinoma quickly grows. CT on neck and fine-needle aspiration are important clues for pre-operative diagnosis. The sistrunk procedure is effective for tumor removal.
